A Thoughtful Educational Approach
Our approach to early years education is shaped by well-established pedagogical philosophies and responsive, child-led practice. We carefully observe children, listen to their ideas and plan learning experiences that build on what interests and excites them.
Inspired by Leading Early Years Philosophies
Montessori
In our Montessori settings, children learn in carefully prepared environments that encourage independence, focus and choice. Purposeful activities support concentration, coordination and confidence, allowing children to learn at their own pace.
Reggio Emilia
Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we recognise that children express their thinking in many different ways: through talk, movement, art, construction, and play. We value children’s ideas, document their learning and create environments that inspire curiosity and collaboration.
Forest School & Outdoor Learning
Outdoor learning is an essential part of life at Riverside. Through Forest School principles, children develop resilience, confidence, and a strong connection to the natural world, exploring, investigating and learning in all weathers and seasons.
Child-Led, Carefully Supported
We follow children’s interests and guide learning through skilled observation and thoughtful interaction. Our practitioners know when to step back and allow independent discovery, and when to extend learning through questions, resources and shared experiences.
