Pastoral Care

Pastoral care is at the heart of everything we do at Riverside Nursery schools. The safety of all of the children in our care is of paramount importance. Our Riverside Dispositions of Resilience, Imagination, Veracity, Empathy and Responsibility are the key values we aspire to. We teach children about grace and courtesy,  helping children to understand polite social norms.

The children are greeted each day by name with a smile and a handshake. We get down to the child’s level and model making good eye-contact and polite greeting.

Our beautiful environments are kept clean and ordered and the children are encouraged to care for and respect their surroundings and resources. We believe that when a child is aware of his environment and takes ownership over the space, he will begin to truly care for it, the sense of order is intrinsic in the young child.

Our Educators are highly trained with a vast array of experience in the provision of early years education including our own unique Riverside Nursery Schools curriculum.

We pride ourselves on our partnership with parents and have an open-door policy providing regular opportunities to speak to your child’s key worker or the Head Teacher. We also hold more formal Parent meetings to discuss your child’s developmental progress.

Our learning environment  reflects diversity and connection to the world through our cultural activities. The children receive an opportunity to learn about cultures of other peoples and nations, respect their traditions and appreciate cultural differences.
